Day of Week Calculator
Find what day of the week any date falls on, plus ISO week, day of year, and leap-year status.
What is a Day of Week Calculator?
A day-of-week calculator (also called a weekday or perpetual-calendar calculator) takes any date — past, present, or future — and tells you whether it falls on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. The math behind it has been studied for centuries: Zeller's congruence (1882), Conway's Doomsday algorithm (1973), and the Sakamoto and Tomohiko Sakamoto methods all give correct answers for any date in the Gregorian calendar. People most often look up the day they were born, the day a historical event happened, or what weekday a future deadline lands on. This tool also surfaces the ISO 8601 week number, the US week number, the day of the year (1–366), the quarter, and whether the year is a leap year. For deeper date arithmetic, try the Age Calculator for a full birth breakdown or the Week Number Calculator for ISO/US week comparisons.
